Using a Gun without a License at Conisborough

James Brookfield, painter, Conisboro’, was charged with using a gun without a license at Conisborough on the 17th July.

Richard Sadler, excise officer, stated that defendant was in a field near Conisborough on the 17th July at 7 o’clock in the evening shooting at some pigeons. He asked defendant for his license, but he said the gun belonged to Mr. Gillott. Witness said he would have it reported.

Frederick Oxias Chate, inland revenue officer, informed the Bench that no license had been taken out since last June, and the penalty for which was a sum not exceeding £10.

Fined 30s including costs.
