Violent Colliers.

On Monday, at Doncaster, John Dooley, collier, Denaby, for being drunk and riotous, at Mexbro’, was fined 15s., including costs; and for damaging the police cell there had to pay 12s., including costs, and 2s. damage.

Robert Farrell and Martin Kennedy, colliers, for gambling, at Conisbro’ on Sunday, were each fined 20s., including costs. The defendants were the ringleaders of a crowd of between 50 and 60 colliers found playing at pitch and toss, and the police officers, on approaching the gang, were assaulted with stones and dross.
