Visit of Fairy Godmother
Their ‘fairy godmother’
Over 600 scholars at Rossington Street School, Denaby, a South Yorkshire mining village, decorated their school and made special gifts yesterday to Mrs. E. McCray, their fairy godmother for the past six years.
Mrs. McCray, a native of Ilkeston, Derbyshire, is music teacher at Spokane High School, State of Washington, in the United States. Her pupils adopted the Denaby school in 1944 and have since sent scores of gift parcels.
Now on a three-month European holiday tour, Mrs. McCray called to see the children from whom she has received hundreds of letters of thanks.
