Frank Walton, a deputy, who went down with the rescue party and lost his life, was buried by the side of his father on Saturday in Dodworth Churchyard.
The coffin was carried from his residence in Denaby Main to Conisbrough Station by his fellow workmen, who accompanied the remains to Dodworth, and bore them to the grave.
There was a large and sympathetic crowd at Dodworth, people lining the whole distance to the churchyard, where the coffin was met by the Vicar, the Rev. W. S. Barker M.A.
There was a large number of wreaths from, Denaby, Cadeby, and Dodworth.
