Watch for Orchard Raiders
By Conisbrough Couple.

Determined to catch vandals who have almost destroyed young fruit trees and raided his orchard, Mr Albert Hunt, of Holywell Bungalow, Sheffield Road, Conisbrough, is staying at home each evening, in wait for the culprits.

On Sunday evening when Mr Hunt and his wife came home after an evening out they were astonished to see that the trees in their new orchard had been stripped of fruit and several of the lower branches completely broken off.

The young couple have been married only four months and are working hard to make their new home and garden look well. They are determined to stop or catch the vandals. Further intruders will also be met by a large sheepdog as part of the effort to stop the vandalism.

“It’s a scandalous state of affairs. Especially when we are just trying to build up our home” said Mr Hunt, “and I am determined to stop it.”
