Waterfall tableau at Civic Dance.

Cllr A.E.Tyas, JP, chairman of Conisbrough urban council, and Mrs Stack welcomed guests to Conisbrough Urban Council’s annual Civic Dinner in the Denaby Baths Hall on Friday. It was a most successful occasion.

Among the 400 guests were many councillors and council officials. They include a councillor G.Cheshire, chairman of the Bath’s committee, who was responsible for the arrangements.

Centre of the dance was an effective tableau, of a 14 foot high waterfall, flanked by a floral display and further decorated by a pond full of goldfish.

Dancing was from eight until 1.30 and there was a large and tastefully stocked buffet.

In spite of the bad weather, most of the people who hadbought tickets, attended and all obviously spent an enjoyable evening.
