A Conisbro’ Wedding
The marriage took place at Conisbrough Parish Church of Miss Delyse Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs B. C. Allen. Of Park Road, Conisbrough to Mr. Roy Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Jones, of Ferry Terrace, Conisbrough. The Rev. G. F. Braithwaite officiated and the organist was Mr. P. Webb.
The bride, given away by her father, wore a full length gown of ivory satin with train and coronet of pearls and orange blossom, with bouffant veil.
She carried a bouquet of white orchids, white gladioli, lilies of the valley, and stephanotis, and was attended by Misses D. Todd, Christine Allen and Mrs. J. Umpleby. The two elder maids wore deep cream brocade dresses with cream accessories, and the younger made wore a nylon organza over satin dress with white accessories. The bridesmaids carried gold roses.
Best man was Mr. Umpleby and groomsmen were Messrs, D. Jones and R. Allen.
The bride’s mother wore a stone coloured suit with turquoise and coffee-coloured accessories, and the bridegroom’s mother wore a Sale blue two-piece with cream accessories.
A reception was held at the Ivanhoe Hotel, Sprotborough.
The bride was attired in eucalyptus green with stone coloured accessories, when she left for her honeymoon in Torquay.
The couple received a wooden fruit bowl from the bride’s colleagues at Waverley Infants’ School, Balby, where she is a teacher, and from the bridegroom’s colleagues at Rentaset, an electric frying pan.
