Wedding – Andrews & Bort

Miss Emma Andrews, daughter of Mr. T. Andrews and the late Mrs. Andrews, 19, Balby Street, Denaby, was married at Denaby Parish Church on Saturday by the Rev. S. Powley to Mr. Wilfred Christian Bort, son of Mr. C. Bort and the late Mrs. Bort, 3, Victoria Street, Mexborough. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. H. Andrews, wore a dainty gown of white satin beaute with veil and wreath of orange blossom and carried a bouquet of pink carnations.
The bridesmaids, Miss Kathleen Bort (sister of the bridegroom) and Miss Eunice Hurd (niece of the bride), wore dresses of pink floral georgette with picture hats and carried sheafs of gladioli, while two small attendants, Miss Beatrice Hurd (niece of the bride) and Master Terence Clemitshaw (nephew of the bridegroom), were dressed in pale blue satin trimmed with white. The best man was Mr. A. McDermott, and the groomsman Mr. C. Twigg. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
