Wedding – Barnett & Morgan
The wedding took place on Saturday at Mexborough Church of Miss Gladys Barnett, youngest daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. E. Barnett, of 64, Doncaster Road, Mexborough, and Mr. Edmund Morgan, son of Mr. T. Morgan, J.P., and Mrs. Morgan of The Villas, Tickhill Square, Denaby Main.
The bride was attired in white net over satin with lovers’ knots and veil and wreath, and carried cream roses. She was attended by Mrs. N. Grinham, Mrs. F. Cook and Miss Jean Morgan. The first wore lavender lace, the second turquoise net and the third pink taffeta.
The bridegroom’s gifts to the bridesmaids were compacts. Mr L. Waller was best man and Mr. H Froggatt groomsman. The bridegroom is an official at the by-product plant at the Wath Main Colliery and a well-known local lawn tennis player. The bride is employed at the British Westfalite factory at Denaby.
The couple received savings certificates from their colleagues. In the absence of the bride’s father, who recently underwent an operation the bride was given away by her brother, Pte. G. Barnett.
