Wedding of Conisbrough Cricketer

Conisbrough cricketer, Mr. Malcolm Cyril Scott, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Scott, of “Woodside Farm,” Old Denaby, was married at Conisbrough Parish Church on Saturday to Miss Dorothy Bowyer, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Bowyer, of “Lynwood,” Old Denaby.

Given away by her father, the bride wore full-length white lace with white satin and pearl trimmings. Her full-length white net veil was held in position with her head-dress of stephanotis. She carried deep pink rosebuds and stephanotis with lily of the valley.

Her attendants were Misses Marian Dakin, Jennifer Bowyer, Janet McLean and Jennifer Hare. ;

Miss Dakin wore full-length pale blue flocked nylon with a headdress of white daisies. The others wore lemon full-length nylon with head-dresses of white daisies. They carried mixed sweet peas.

The best man was Mr. John Blackburn and the groomsmen were Mr. Wm. Bowyer, Jun., and Mr. Brian Tingle.

The bride’s mother wore a slate blue brocade two-piece with beige accessories and the bridegroom’s mother wore a floral nylon silk dress with beige accessories. A reception was held at the Conisbrough Welfare Hall and the honeymoon is being spent at Yarmouth, the bride travelling in a Donegal tweed suit with tan accessories.
