Wedding – Burton – Ogilwy

Conisborough Firemen at Wedding of Colleague.

An interesting wedding took place at St. Peter’s Church, Conisborough, yesterday, the Vicar of Conisborough, the Rev. H. Lee, officiating. For the first time the Conisborough Fire Brigade turned out to honour one of its members, and at the church door a guard-of honour was formed, the members crossing their axes as the bridal couple emerged from the church.

Miss Barbara Burton, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Burton, of Elm Cottages, ConUborough, was married to Mr. Cecil Ogilwy, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Ogilwy, Church Street, Conisborough.

The bride, who was given away by her father, was arrayed in white with gold trimmings, wore a veil and wreath of orange blossom, and carried a bouquet white chrysanthemums. She was attended by Miss M. Burton (sister), whose dress was of brown wnth lace trimmings and hat tone; and Miss B. Flint (Mcxborough), who had dress of apple green with silver trimmings, and a black hat. Both carried bouquets of bronze chrysanthemums.

Mr. G. Gibson was best man, and Mr, H. Mee, groomsman. A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs H. Cuckson, Holly well Lane, after which the bridal couple left to spend their honeymoon at Blackpool.
