Conisbrough Ceremony
Miss Sheila Jackson (Conisbrough) and Mr Winston Rigg (Denaby)
after their marriage at Conisbrough Parish Church
The wedding took place on Saturday at St. Peter’s Parish Church, Conisbrough, of Miss Rosemary Fox, youngest daughter of Mr, and Mrs, H, Fox, of 39 Lime Grove, Sheffield Road, Conisbrough, and Mr, Kenneth George William Rigg, eldest son of Mr, and Mrs, K, Rigg, of 28 Tickhill Square, Denaby Main.
The Rev. G, F. Braithwaite officiated at a choral service and organist was Mr, W, Stables, The bride, given away by her father, wore a white lace, Crinoline style gown with rucked nylon panel down the front, The gown was completed by diamante trimmings, a dressed cut-out neckline and long sleeves, Her full-length veil was held in place by a white floral head-dress ana she carried roses.
The bride was attended by Misses Margaret O’Brien, Janette Butcher, Gillian Turton, Kay Durrant and Master Kevin Shacklock, a page boy. The chief bridesmaid wore a ballerina length gown of aquamarine figured brocade whilst the two older ones wore similar gowns in orange figured brocade. Miss Durrant’s gown was in lemon brocade whilst the page boy was in red and white satin, The attendants carried lace trimmed posies of freesia and the page boy a souvenir shoe with keys, In addition the small maids carried vanity bags.
The best man was Mr, Alan Moore and groomsmen were Mr, Winston Rigg and Mr, Fred Mason – The bridegroom’s mother wore a fur trimmed navy blue suit in double jersey wool with beige accessories, while the choice of the bride’s mother was a gold lame dress, black mink trimmed Astrakhan coat and beige accessories.
A reception was held at Conisbrough at the Fox Inn and the honeymoon is in Blackpool, the bride travelling in a brown and beige jersey wool suit with matching beige accessories. The couple received a pressure cooker from the bride’s colleagues at Cementation Co. Ltd.
