Wedding – Jones & Precious
The wedding took place on Saturday of Mr. George Precious, only son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Precious, “Dunromin,” Elm Green Lane, Conisbrough, and Miss Kathleen Maud Jones, of Cheltenham Spa at St. Peter’s Church, Conisbrough. The bridegroom is a member of staff of Conisbrough Modern School and the bride a nurse at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
The Rev. G. Needham officiated and Mr. N. F. Knight, a colleague of the groom, played the organ. The service was choral and choir boys were in attendance. The bride was attired in a gown of oyster satin, her veil of old Parisienne lace, being held by a coronet of arum lilies. She carried roses and was given away by her uncle.
Miss Margaret Rich was chief bridesmaid and also in attendance were Misses Margaret Booth, Violet Barker, and Elizabeth Rudge. The two former wore pale blue crepe dresses with Juliet caps to match. The bridesmaids and the latter cornflower blue dresses with head-dress to tone. Bridesmaids carried sweet peas. The bride wore pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. Gifts of the bridegroom to the bridesmaids were necklaces and rings.
