Conisboro’ Tradesman’s Bride
Gammon – Lawrence.
Arthur William Gammon, eldest son of Mr. and M. A. Gammon, 37, Church street, Conisboro’ was married on Wednesday at the Wesleyan Church, Conisboro’, the Rev W. Galloway Mitchell officiating, to Miss , Elsie Lawrence, eldest daughter of Mr. And Mrs. K Lawrence, 24, Low Road, Conishoro’.
The service was choral, Mr. Johnson being the organist.
The bride was given away by her father and attended by Misses D. E. Lawrence, N. Maynard, Brammah and S. Brown, and Noel Sharpe. The bridal gown was of white silk georgette with embroidered cape, and the bouquet of pink carnations and cream roses. She also wore pearls.
The two elder maids wore pink silk georgette with embroidered capes and black hat; and biscuit silk with cottee, and lemon picture hat. The juniors wore pink crepe-de-chine trimmed with lace, and head wreaths. The little boy wore white satin. The maids carried cream and pink roses.
A reception was held in the Conishoro’ Welfare Hall, the bride’s mother wearing blue georgette and lace, and the bridegroom’s mother fawn and blue crepe-de-chine.
The gifts included a Jacobean clock from the members of the Conisboro’ Nursing Divirion of which the bride is a member; and a fruit set from the Wesleyan Cricket Club, of which the bridegroom is a playing member. The bridegroom is also well known in trading circles.
The honeymoon is being spent in London and Torquay
