Wedding Present for Denaby footballer

On Saturday evening, at the Officials Club, Denaby Main, an interesting social gathering was made for the occasion of a presentation to Harold Hamilton, the Denaby United outside right, to mark the recent occasion of his marriage.

On behalf of the players, the management, and the supporters of the club, Mr H.C. Harrison, president of the club, presented to Hamilton a marble timepiece, suitably inscribed.

Mr Harrison paid an eloquent tribute to Hamilton as a player and sportsman, and said that during his three season connection with the club’s his conduct on all occasions had been exemplary. On his day he was the finest outside right in the Midland League, and had brilliant possibilities in him.

He also had a fine war record, joining the ranks and rising to the commission, as well as been decorated for distinguished service.

Mr Harrison wished Mr and Mrs Hamilton the greatest happiness and prosperity, and hope that the clock constantly remind them of a pleasant connection with Denaby’
