At Denaby Parish Church on Saturday the wedding was solemnised of Miss Dorothy Stones, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Stones, of Lyndhurst, Church Walk, Denaby Main, and Warrant Officer Herbert Brown R.A.F., son of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Brown, of High Street, Westleton, Suffolk.
Given away by her father, the bride was attired in an ankle length gown of white lace over satin, and carried a veil (lent by her friend) and carried pink carnations and fern. She was attended by her sister, Miss Florence Stones, who wore a dress of dusty pink, with black hat and accessories, and a bouquet of iris and fern, and two small maids were Irene Charlesworth and Vera Ackrill, in yellow dresses with silver head-dresses. They carried roses. The maids received silver bracelets. Best man was Cpl. Chipperfield R.A.F. and groomsman Mr. C. Charlesworth.
The bride was presented with silver horseshoes by her two cousins, Sally and Irene Stones, and by the small attendants. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Brown left for Amesbury, Wiltshire. They were the recipients of many gifts. The bride has been serving with the W.A.A.F. for some time, and the bridegroom has just completed 70 operational flights. In his speech at the reception the best man Cpl. Chipperfield, informed the bridegroom that he had brought the good news that he had been mentioned in despatches for his good work, and the bridegroom received the congratulations of the whole company.
