Mr. E. Spencer (Conisbrough) and Miss B. E. Tonks (Conisbrough)
A honeymoon to Paris is now being spent by Mr. Eric Spencer and his bride who, as Miss Barbara Elizabeth Tonks of 13 Montagu Avenue, Conisbrough was married in St. Peter’s Church, Conisbrough on Saturday.
Mr Spencer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Spencer of 67 Daylands Avenue, Conisbrough,
The Rev G. F. Braithwaite officiated at the choral service with Mr. Knight as organist.
The bride, who was attended by four bridesmaids, and a page boy, wore a crinoline gown of lace and satin, with veil and wreath of orange blossom, and carried a shower bouquet of red roses.
Bridesmaids were Miss Betty Andrews, Miss Patsy Spencer, Miss Brenda Richardson and Miss Carol Harris, and page was Master M. Rhodes. The three older maids wore pink net over pink taffeta, while Miss Harris and Master Rhodes wore satin and carried sweet peas.
Best man was Mr. C. Rhodes, and groomsman Messrs. A. and S. Tonks. A reception was held after the wedding in the Welfare Pavilion, Conisbrough, the brides mother wearing turquoise, with blue accessories.
