Married in Alexandria
Miss Violet Wain (23), daughter of Mrs. Ross, of 58, Doncaster Road, Conisbrough, serving with the A.T.S. in the Middle East was married on Saturday, June 24th, to Sgt. H. Nelson, R.A.F.at St. George’s church, Alexandria.
The service was conducted by an R.A.F. Padre, and the bride was given away by R.M.S. McHarvey of Scotland. She was attended by Miss. F. Lewis, A.T.S. London, and Miss P. Tomlinson W.R.N.S., Staffs. The best man was Pilot-Officer Lavack, of Canada. A reception was held at Daly’s Hotel, Alexandria.
The bridegroom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. I. Nelson, of 17, Banburgh Road, Liverpool. The bride has been in the A.T.S. for nearly five years and has been in the Middle East for the past 20 months. Both bride and bridegroom have taken a great part in the entertainment side of their work and are members of a concert party.
