Denaby Couple Married In Malta
On Oct. 22, in St. Paul’s Cathodral, Valletta, Malta, Miss Lily May Ward, only daughter of the late Mr. B. Ward and Mrs. A. Harwood, 59, Warmsworth Street, Denaby Alain, was married to Mr. Frederick Coombe, of the staff of the Royal Naval Hospital, Malta, the ceremony being performed by Canon R.M. Nicholls
The bride wore midnight-blue silk marocain with hat to tone, and a blue stone necklace, and carried a shower bouquet of dahlias and stefanotas.
She was attended by Mrs, F. Johns, who wore blue taffeta with beige hat, and carried a bouquet of pink and cream roses. The bride was given away by Chief Petty Officer F. Johns and the bridegroom was attended by Mr. James Chapman. A reception was afterwards held in Blackley’s Cafe, Valletta, and later the couple left for their honeymoon in Vittoriosa.
Among the gifts received was a silver coffee service from the staff of the Royal Naval Hospital.
