Sampson-Wellings.

The wedding took place at Denaby Parish Church on Saturday of Miss Alice Wellings, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wellings, of Wadworth Street, Denaby, and Geo. William Sampson, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Sampson, North Cliff Road, Conisboro’.

Among the many presents was a canteen of cutlery and cut glass from the employees at Messrs. Kilner Bros. Glass Works at Conisboro’, where the bridegroom is employed as a maintenance manager.

The bridesmaids were the Misses Mary, Susan, Harriet and Joyce Wellings (sisters of the bride), ‘Miss Evelyn Sampson (sister of the bridegroom), and Mrs. Sharp, who was a dame of honour.

The best man was Mr. P. Shreaves, and the groomsman Mr. Sam Wellings.

The bride was dressed in a gown of floral georgette, and was given away by her brother, Mr. James Wellings. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. S. Powley (Vicar).
