Westlake & Wheelhouse
At the Denaby Parish Church last Saturday, by the Rev. S. Powley, Miss Irene May Westlake, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Westlake, 26, Tickhill Square, Denaby Main, was married to Mr. Ben Wheelhouse, fourth son of Mr. B. Wheelhouse and the late Mrs. Wheelhouse, of Rothwell, Leeds.
Bride and bridegroom are well known in local sport, the bride having distinguished herself at tennis and the bridegroom at football.
The bride has been employed at the British Westfalite Works, and received as a wedding gift, a fan-shaped mirror. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. C. H. Binns, a, member of the Blackburn Rovers football team, and Mr. A. Westlake (brother of the bride) was the groomsman.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in white satin with a coatee of silver lace. She wore a veil (kindly lent by Mrs. E. Swift, of Conisboro’) with a coronet of orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of dark red roses. She wore a crystal necklet, the gift of the bridegroom.
