A Smiling Group after the Ceremony

A pretty double wedding took place at Mexborough Parish Church last Thursday when two daughters of Mr. and Mrs. W. Meakin, 26 Don View, Mexborough were married. The brides were Miss Margaret Meakin, youngest daughter, and Miss Hilda Meakin, third daughter, and bridegrooms were Mr. Harry Robinson, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Robinson, 50, Warmsworth Street, Denaby Main and Stoker Joseph Hunt, second son of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. Hunt.

The brides wore identical gowns of white figured satin cut on Empire lines with a veil and wreath. Miss Margaret Meakin carried cream roses and carnations and Miss Hilda Meakin pink roses and carnations.

Bridesmaids were Miss Dorothy Moxon Miss Annie Straw, Miss Joan Hunt and Miss Joan Meakin. The former two wore gowns of mauve taffeta and organdie and pink taffeta and net respectively, and carried daffodils: and the two latter had dresses of pink and mauve taffeta and carried anemones. The maids wore shoulder veils and their gifts from the bridegroom were necklaces and bracelets.

Best men were Mr. Wilfred Meakin and Mr. Tom Meakin, and the groomsman was Mr. Sidney Robinson.
