Weslyan Bazaar
Big effort at Conisborough.
The society connected with the Wesleyan church is desirous of improving its premises by roof and footpath repairs, painting and especially by improving lavatories and cloak room accommodation, the sum required is estimated at about £500 but £800 is the figure on which the promoters have their eyes.
Yesterday (Thursday) a bazaar in aid of the above fund was opened in the station roads schools, by Mr. George Baker, of swinton the chair being taken by Mr. Walter Appleyard. J.P. Ex-lord mayor of Sheffield.
Many well filled stalls containing the usual collection found at these functions were in evidence, and the number of person attending, a good number in spite of the hard time were kept amused and interested by a succession of entertainments, side shows, characters reading etc.
Today (Friday) the bazaar is to be opened by forty seven children who will hand gifts out to Mr. Walter Scrimhaw of Braithwell supported by Dr. L. Whinup of Barnsley the chair will be taken by Mr. A. J. Auty of Doncaster
