Wesleyan Minister’s Retirement.
The Rev. David Williams, Conisborough, retires this week after 41 years’ association with the Wesleyan ministry and is to live at 9, Kenwood Park Road, Nether Edge, Sheffield.
His retirement has been accelerated by ill-health, but Mr. Williams hopes, following his recuperation, to be able to render useful service to his faith in Sheffield.
He began in the ministry in Wales, and for many years was a prominent figure at Welsh Eisteddfods and was winner of eight Bardic Chairs and Crowns.
His daughter, Miss Freda Williams, an expert elocutionist, has been prominently connected with dramatic work in Conisborough, Chesterfield, Mexborough and Doncaster.
Mr. Williams is to be succeeded at Conisborough by the Rev. W. G. Mitchell, of Wandsworth Common.
