A Denaby D.C.M.

Charles Wharton (York and Lancaster)

Cpl Charles Wharton (York and Lancs), 10 Annerley Street, Denaby main, has been awarded the D.C.M.for conspicuous bravery in the field.

He enlisted at the outbreak of war, being then aged 17, and he is at present in Italy.

Before enlistment he worked at the Denaby Main colliery.
