When Man Was Taken Ill
Five Cadeby boys help.

Five Cadeby boys were walking through Metton Woods, Cadeby, last Friday, when they found a man who had been taken ill.

The boys thought the man might be asleep and as they did not wish to appear foolish by calling for assistance if he should only be asleep, it was decided that one of them, Peter Southall, of Garden Lane, Cadeby, a 5th form boy at Mexborough Grammar School, should return to the village for assistance.

The other boys, Timothy Brocksom, Terence Oakden, Derek Stanfield and Anthony Orwin, remained with the man.

When Peter returned with a man from the village and telephoned for the police, an ambulance was summoned and the man, Norman Taylor (34), miner, Clifton Street, Denaby, was admitted to Montague Hospital, Mexborough.

Last night it was understood that his condition was much improved.
