Decimalisation took place in 1971. Before then the currency was as below
Prices shown are in £ sterling/ shillings /pence
or shillings/pence where no £ sign is shown
20 shillings = £1
12 pence = 1 shilling
1 shilling = 5 (new) pence in today’s currency
so 6 in the right column = 2.5 new pence
and 11 in the right column = 4.6 new pence
