Wife Assault at Denaby

Thomas Rudge, miner, of Denaby, was summoned for having assaulted Alan Rudge, his wife on the eighth inst.

The parties were married at Mexborough Church about two years ago.

On the day named it was alleged defendants through a mug of hot coffee in complainant’s face, also a saucepan which struck her on the finger, and a plate which caught her on the head.

Complainant said she was afraid to live with the defendant. On several occasions she had left the house.

The magistrates fined the defendant 1s and costs, and ordered him to pay 5s a week towards his wife’s maintenance, a judicial separation order being granted.
