Mrs C.E.Gledhill
Wife of former Conisbrough Head
The death has occurred at Bessacarr, Doncaster, and Mrs Charlotte Elizabeth Gledhill (71), wife of Mr Walter Gledhill, former headmaster of Conisbrough Northcliffe Modern School.
A native of Dodworth, Mrs Gledhill was in the teaching profession when she met her husband. Mr Gledhill was headmaster of spring girl school Penistone and of Doncaster Road School, Mexborough, before becoming headmaster at Northcliffe School when it was opened.
He retired from Conisbrough some eight years ago when Mr and Mrs Gledhill went to live in North Wales.
Mrs Gledhill had been ill for several months and in December came to stay with the youngest daughter at Bessacarr.
There are two sons and three daughters. The eldest son, Philip, has a farm in Wales.
The funeral took place on Saturday.
