Wilful Damage

George Hempsall, farm servant, Conisboro’, was summoned by Wm. R. Horsfield, farmer, Conisboro’, for wilful damage.

Complainant stated that he had an orchard adjoining the defendant’s house, and a number of apples had been knocked off his trees. He laid the damage at 6d.

Thomas Broadley stated that he saw the defendant and another lad throwing stones at the complainant’s apple trees and they knocked a quantity off.

Defendant denied the charge, but was fined 1s. and 20s. costs, and was ordered to pay the damage, 6d.
