Wilful Damage at Conisborough

John Grindle, William Hayes, Thomas Edwards and Albert Middleton, all boys of Conisborough, were charged with having done wilful damage to hedge at Conisborough.

Police constable Trueman said he saw the hedge broken down. The boy Edwards was up a tree after a nest and in jumping down upon the hedge, he broke it down. The other boys  also aided in the damage.

George William Radley, farmer, Conisborough, deposed that damage was done to the extent of a shilling. He did not want to press the case.

Middleton, who had been previously convicted, was fined 15s, including costs and the other defendants 10s each including costs.
