Missing in Middle East

Mr. and Mrs. Williams, formerly of Prior Road, Conisbrough, and now living in Leeds, were officially informed last Friday that their son, Gunner Jack Williams, had been reported missing since Jan. 22nd.

Twenty-two years of age, Jack had been serving in the Middle East – with the R.A. for over 13 months.

Well known In Conisbrough he formerly worked at Edlington with his two brothers, Bernard and George, and was a member of the Territorials at Denaby in days of peace.

All three were called up immediately on the outbreak of hostilities and all three were drafted into the RA.

Bernard and George were employed the Cadeby Main Colliery.

Their father, who is now working on munitions, served throughout the last war in the Lancashire Fusilers, and was wounded.
