Result In Two Being Fined

“We have some responsibility to elderly persons who find it very difficult getting about in these conditions” said Chief Inspector Todd at Doncaster West Riding Court on Saturday when two 17-year-old Denaby winter sports enthusiasts were fined £1 each.

They were Brian McDonald, steel fixer, of Blythe Street, Denaby, and George Smith, apprentice mechanic of Loversall Street Denaby both pleaded guilty to tobogganing on the street, Smith did not appear but his father sent a letter saying that the toboggan had been broken up.

PC West said he saw the two used tobogganing down the main path on Northcliffe Hills, Denaby in February.

When he stopped them McDonald’s said, “I didn’t know it was wrong”
