Youth Found Dead in Closet

A very painful and sad event took place on the evening of the 21st, when a youth named John Hobson, who resided with his parents on Park road, was found dead in the closet belonging to the dwelling-house. From external appearances it was evident that death had taken place while the poor lad was in an epileptic fit, a malady to which he was unfortunately subject. Only a Sunday or two previous to the one on which he died, he was carried out of the Parish Church suffering from a seizure.

Much sympathy is felt for his parents, to whom the awful suddenness of their son’s death has come as a great shock. The facts concerning the death were promptly communicated to the Coroner, and that gentleman decided that there was, under the circumstances, no need for an inquest being held.
