Youth Steals Night Watchman’s clock
Frank William Hanby (19), labourer of Conisborough pleaded guilty at Doncaster today to stealing a clock, value two shillings, the property of Samuel Redfern, nightwatchman for the Conisborough Urban District Council.
The clock was missed from Redfern’s cabin in Elm Green Lane at 9.30 last night, police constable Hibbert said he saw Hanby at about 3 o’clock this morning in the Castle club, Conisborough, showing the clock to some of the dancers.
Superintendent Minty said that in 1920 Hanby was committed to reformatory school for three years for the theft of a Treasury note, and in July last bound over on a charge of false pretences
Hanby was now fined £3.
