Denaby Open Air Baths

South Yorkshire Times Aug 14th, 1965.

Open Air Baths.

There was a discussion a few months ago about Denaby having had an open air swimming bath, and some of our younger readers did not know that at one time such a bath existed in the village.

The small open air bath was opened in 1910 on the site adjoining the old football field-now called the Annerly Street Recreation Field.

The bath was on the far side near to the old Back Lane. Mr. J. Sellars was the attendant and Mr. Witty Milner the ranger. It was surrounded by a corrugated fence and was very popular 55 years ago.
