Mexboro’ and District League

A meeting of the representatives of the clubs forming the above competition was held at the Montagu Arms Hotel, Mexboro’, on Monday night. Mr. C. O. Pepper, of Mexboro’, presided.

It was decided that Wombwell Main and Mitchell Main, who have each secured an equal number of points, should play off for the championship on Saturday, September 26th, on the Swinton Cricket ground. The umpires selected were H. Thompson (Mexboro’), and — Hardy (Tankersley). Wickets are to be pitched at 12 o’clock. If not concluded on Saturday, the match will be concluded on Monday.

The annual meeting of the League will be held on Oct. 5th, and the annual dinner and presentation of Whitworth Cup and medals will be held on Oct. 28th.

A sub-committee of the League was appointed to deal with the complete revision of the League rules to be submitted to the general meeting of the League. The following gentlemen comprise the committee—Messrs. C. O. Pepper (Mexboro’), C. H. Radcliffe (Swinton), J. Elco (Hoyland), S. Kilner (Mitchells), and secretary, W. P. Turner (Mexboro’).
