In March 1921 a 20 year old chemist has a terrible accident at the Westalite factory and a five year old boy is found lying dead at Morley Place 
The body of an elderly woman is recovered from the River Don, & another dies as a gust of wind blows her over
A Motor engineer has an accident when his car collided with a bridge 
A Conisborough man is awarded the Belgium Palmes en Or, and the shooting drama outside the Star Hotel is heard at Leeds Assizes
After 23 years of waiting Urban powers are at last awarded to Conisborough !
Denaby & Cadeby are preparing for their first season in the Yorkshire Council whilst United’s poor season continues with a 7-0 defeat at Meadow Lane & 8-0 reverse at Hillsborough

There’s an unfortunate mishap to Conisborough brothers in April 1921 and a fatal fall at Doncaster workhouse to a former Denaby miner
There’s a National mining strike with talks of a triple alliance and a Manifesto of support for the coalminers, which fell through on Black Friday as local businesses and employment are affected
The first elections of the new Urban Council are held and WH Chambers resigns from the rural District Council
The Conisborough War Memorial is unveiled and Sorby Scientific Society visit the Don Valley
United finished bottom of the Midland league, with a further heavy 9-0 defeat at Clifton Lane by Rotherham Town

May

In May 1921 the coal strike, in its seventh week, had raised the unemployment total to over 4 million
the Whitsuntide holiday was celebrated in a good spirit despite this, with organised pit pony races, parades and sing songs
The Urban Council appoint a medical officer and debate highway matters and education
The “Times” suggests a speed limit of 10 miles an hour for Char a Bancs and relates the beginning of “Conans berg”
In the courts damaging trees and wood theft are reported and “The Son of Tarzan is on at the Globe
United’s return to the Midland league and end with a credit balance, although they finished at the bottom of the table

A new infant welfare Centre was opened at Denaby Main, with Lady Mabel Smith appealing to mothers to use the centre
Coalminers prepare to accept the coal owners offer
Albion House is to be the centre of the Urban Council
there are prosecutions for obtaining relief by false pretences
Conisbrough Notes tell us of the new bowling green, water carts and the prices of commodities
There are reports of Denaby’s cricket tour to the Midlands
and ground improvements are in place for the new season
