There’s a fatal aeroplane crash killing a Conisbrough businessman and Conisbrough Council offer to help the Cricket Club level their ground and add a bowling green
We hear about the Tom Hill youth club links with Germany
and how a Denaby Hairdresser is in office for the third time
There’s a Public Speaking Competition and the Conisbrough Church Sunday School party
and United
carry all before them and contemplate again a return to the Midland League

In March 1967 a Denaby Missionary returns with many tears from the people he left behind in Borneo
There’s also an appeal from a Conisbrough man in Kenya for help with school fees
The Conisbrough & Denaby youth club are producing ‘Morning Glory’
and there’s Easter Eggs for Charity at Station Road
On the darker side there’s promise of a ‘clean up’ at Denaby after 159 cases of bad conduct in 6 months
Tommy Joyce is to box at Tom Hill and United decide not to apply for Midland League admission and have there sights on promotion to Yorkshire League, Division 1

In April 1967 the opening of a new £50,000 club was acclaimed
The Mona was heralded to be; ” What the people of Conisbrough deserve”
A Denaby Boxiong evening draws a crowd of 300 with the star attraction up and coming 19 year old Tommy Joyce
After only a year in the Guides there’s a Silve Duke of Edinburgh award for a Conisbrough girl
Conisbrough CC is set to teach Russian visitors about the game of cricket
We have pictures from 11 weddings in the month and United still have hopes of becoming Champions

In June 1967, Spoons win a Singing Contest and there’s a Polaroid Swinger in Town
There’s a Church Gala, a Spring Fair, the Civic parade and Flowers for the Church
A Teenage Couple are sweeping the dancing Prizes and there’s plaudits for Conisbrough Cricket Umpires
On the darker side there’s Gaol for a Man who attacked his wife with a razor blade and a fine for a fight in a chip shop

In July 1967 a Conisbrough teacher is to be married in Spain with the relatives wedding party in Conisbrough !
Morley Place students hit the headlines with a series of ‘request’ concerts
there are Rose Queens at Rowena, Old Denaby and the Girls Friendly Society
The scouts are at Swinton and the Brownies are going Dutch
Ivanhoe have a Sports Day and Morley a Garden party and there are swimming Galas for Northcliffe and the Primary Schools

August

In August 1967 the Denaby Ings has become a Nature Reserve

In September 1967 there was new American Machinery at the XL Crisp Factory and a Show House at the New Bradley Estate

October

In October 1967 The Denaby Comrades Club is opened, the Women’s Club hold their Autumn Fair and the Baptist Church their Harvest Festival
There’s Go Kart construction at Northcliffe
A Denaby man gets an Award for 20 Years Army service and the SJAB Corps Superintendent retires after 45 years
There’s a tragic story of a bride of 18 months, who dies suddenly from a brain haemorrhage

November

In November 1967 the Prime Minister visited Conisbrough
and the Mona was providing top entertainment and the extension of its ‘Beat Nite’
There was a sensational incident at Cardiff when a Conisbrough teenager was accused of murdering his step grandfather
There was arson at the Mission and discoloured water flows from the Conisbrough taps
Ellershaw Crusaders have to stop playing to let shoppers cross during their games
and United are unbeaten and chasing the leaders of the Yorkshire League

In December 1967 a Conisbrough Labourer received a life sentence for killing his Step Grandfather
and a Conisbrough family were planning a new life in Australia
There was a debate about the existence of God by the Conisbrough and Denaby Youth Club and Wrestling at the Welfare on behalf of the Tom Hill Youth Club
There are Nativity plays at St Albans and Balby Street, and Christmas events for the Baptist Church and Colliery and Annerley Street Pensioners,
and Dinners for the Catholic Mothers and Cricket Clubs
United are knocked out of the Cups in December and finish with a stirring performance against local rivals, Mexborough Town
