January

In January 1932, the “Times” published a “Casualty List” of 37 local people who had died in 1931, from accidents at work, on the road and at home and a full list of local events
A holder of the King’s medal collapsed and died at Bramall Lane and Tom Hill lost his wife.
Denaby Neighbours are bound over after a backyard squabble, Brothers fined for damaging turnips and pit hands for riding bicycles in Ivanhoe recreation ground
A labourer is also fined for stealing brass fittings and there’s birch for young Conisborough thieves
United suffer a miserable Christmas, ‘doubled’ by Mexborough and remain winless during January

February

Cadeby Pithead baths are opened in February 1932 and a miner is killed by a fall from a “funny roof”
The Agent for Denaby & Cadeby Collieries is appointed and splendid progress is reported by the Home Coal Carting Committee
The Bishop of Sheffield visits to open the Denaby Parish Hall and we have Annual reports from Baptist & Wesleyan Churches
Houses in Minney Moor Close and Street Lamps are reviewed
Four Conisboro schoolgirls are charged with stealing after forming the “Shop Stealing Society”
Denaby & Cadeby report a big overdraft, after 7 matches rained off
United are still bottom but win beating York City Reserves 7 – 2 !

In March 1932 several bodies were recovered from the Don with suicide  connected to the events and another young girl is burned to death, as she attempts to “draw” the fire
Conisborough Musical Society perform “The Rebel Maid” 
Thousands of visitors were reported to see the illuminated Castle and the Urban Council discuss ex-servicemen and the Memorial Park
Councillors are brought to task in a Stewards meeting and a gamekeeper is brought to trial after a Denaby Miner is shot and killed
Denaby  Park is completed and fire guts Rossington Street School
United have a good month with the highlight a 5 – 3 victory at Scarborough

More accidental deaths are reported in April 1932 with a Servant burnt to death at Derby,a man struck by a girder and a child crushed by planks
Election  addresses & pictures of new & prospective Councillors
Conisborough Castle is suggested as a “Show Place”
The Gamekeeper is acquitted of the death after the  shooting affair, a Denaby miner is imprisoned for strangling a dog and an elderly labourer fined for stealing a blanker
At the AGM, Denaby United are reported out of debt, their goalkeeper is transferred to the Arsenal
and Denaby and Cadeby withdraw from the South Yorkshire Section

A cyclist was killed after colliding with a van at Old Denaby in June 1932 and  Mexborough is courting the village as its “Garden City.”
A two year old is fatally scalded by boiling fat and a 15 year old is killed by a run of tubs 
The Catholic Priest condemns birth control and new clinic in Conisborough & the “gentlest of old horses” is found brutally murdered in the Holywell field
There is a baby show at the Old Denaby village fête and a house of 2032 is featured
Denaby schoolboys are summoned for “pelting pylons.”
