Accident upsets Denaby United Gainsborough goalkeepers leg broken Gainsborough Trinity 2 Denaby United 2 A shadow was cast over the game at Gainsborough on Saturday, by an unfortunate accident to the home goalkeeper. Denaby United were the visitors, playing the return match with the Trinity, who were beaten at Denaby the previous Saturday. The game was in progress just 20 min when Hamilton, going for goal, came into collision with Anderson, the Trinity goalkeeper, who run out to meet him. The men collided heavily, and both fell to the ground, Anderson, breaking a leg. The Goalkeeper wasremoved from the field, and his place was taken by Barnes one of the fullbacks. The mishap was a pure accident, but it upset Denaby Main very much. Hamilton felt it very keenly, and was quite unable to settle down after the accident. The game was a tame affair, with an end of the season flavour, and was drawn 2-2. GODFREY and KENNEDY got the Denaby goals and COPLEY opened the Trinity score. Dick Coope gave a penalty, and MILLER scored with the spot kick. After the game, officials of the Denaby United club, saw the parents of the unfortunate goalkeeper, who is only 18, and expressed the regret of the club at the accident.
