Ambulance Crew at Melton Hall
Here is an interesting ambulance crew taken at Melton Hall in 1911, when a field day was held.
Those in the group (left to right) are:
Mr S.Ellis, Dr J.Forster (Conisborough), Dr L.Brown (Mexborough), Mr G.Walker, Mr H.S.Witty (former manager at Cadeby Main), Mr W.H.Chambers (former general manager at Denaby and Cadeby Collieries), Messrs B.Williamson, D.Chambers, W.V.Simpkins, and P.White.
Messes S.Ellis and D.Chambers, were killed in the Cadeby disaster. Of the group only Messrs W.V.Simpkins, and B.Williamson are still living
