Hough on “How I Deal with Penalties.”

A fourth penalty, which has been given against Denaby United this season was awarded against them on Saturday week.
And it was the fourth time the opposition failed to score when player manager Harry Hough flung himself across the goal to pull off a brilliant one-handed save at the foot of the post.

Harry has saved three of those four penalties that the other one was stopped by a goalkeeper no longer with Denaby, Edward Stasiukiewicz.

The men who have failed against the Denaby keepers from the 12 yard spot of Bamforth of Retford, Raynor of Grantham, who had two stopped in one match at Tickhill Square by Hough within the space of a few minutes, and Smith, of Boston.

Harry’s Tactics.

“I don’t do anything really special to stop them – I just take them as they come. The only thing which seems to help is if the person taking the cake is right footed. I’m only a foot to my left, and vice versa.” Harry said this week, “I’m pleased about saving those penalties – it shows that my reflexes are all right after not playing because of a knee injury.”
