Conisborough Annual Meeting Reports
Speaking at the annual meeting of Conisborough Cricket Club at the Star Hotel, Conisborough, on Tuesday, Mr. W. Thompson (secretary), said they had had a successful year from a playing standpoint, but a disappointing year financially.
He expressed his thanks for the voluntary work done by members.
The first team batting averages were headed by E. Hancock and J. Yeomans topped the bowling averages. A. Mawson and H. Ellis topped the second team lists.
When the Question of competitions for next season was dealt with, Mr. Thompson said he understood the Emergency Committee of the Doncaster League had agreed that the league should be run in a modified form and that a meeting of clubs would be held in March. The club agreed to wait until after that meeting before making their decision.
The balance sheet showed an income of £150 7s. 11d. Main items of expenditure were: Refreshments £63 16s. 9d., efforts £9 11s. 10d., umpires £7 7s. 8d., rent and rates £20, and there was a balance of £11 2s. 3d. The clubs liabilities amount to £27 19s. 7d.
Officials elected included: President, Mr. J. I. Webster; vice-presidents (re-elected en bloc together with Messrs. J. T. Asher, H. Appleyard, junr., J. Brocksom and J. Darley); honorary vice-president, Canon H. T. Eddershaw; secretary, Mr. W. Thompson; treasurer, Mr. A. B. Bennett.
The committee and captains will be elected at the next meeting.
The club´s knock-out competition will again be run, and it is probable that evening games will be arranged for the local Comforts Fund.
