Denaby Miner’s Inquest – James Shelton

Sheffield Telegraph, October 8, 1881 Denaby Miner’s Inquest On Tuesday an inquest was held at Conisbroughas tothe cause of death of James Shelton. Shelton was engaged at the Denaby Main Colliery, and on the 22nd, ult. (September) there was a burst of coal, the effect ofwhich was to knock Shelton down, and he failing on the rails broke three of his ribs. He was all right to last Thursday when inflammation set in and he died on Friday night The jury found he died from injuries accidentally received
