Married 60 years.
Mr and Mrs J Pikett, of Maltby Street, Denaby Main, will tomorrow be celebrating their Diamond Wedding.
Mrs Pikett, who was 82 on Monday, received many greetings from the family and friends. She had been an invalid for sometime, but is able to get up and sit about the house.
Mr Pikett, who is fairly well, will be 84 in November. They came to Denaby Main from Barnsley shortly after their marriage, and for 45 years Mr Pikett was employed as a surface work at Cadeby Colliery.
He retired in 1945. They have had 12 children, of whom four sons and four daughters survive. Three children died in infancy and a married daughter died some years ago.
They have 18 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The couple are greatly respected in the village, and their friends will join in Congratulations on this auspicious occasion
