Sheffield United Reserve 4 Denaby United 1

The weather was beautifully fine when these teams opposed each other at Bramall Lane, on Saturday, but the attendance was only meagre. Neither team was at full strength, there being several notable absentees from either side.

United won the toss and set Denaby to face a strong sun. A stinging shot from Brown at close range found the net, with Tayles beaten, 10 min from the start.

Brown getting possession raced through the Denaby defence and scored a second point for United.

A mistake by lowly again letting Brown,
who put United further ahead with a very good shot.

Half-time arrived shortly after this with the score: United Reserve 3 Denaby 0

A good run by Sheldrake on the visitors centre so that player centre beautifully and Roper put the ball through scoring Denaby’s first goal, 10 min after the resumption.

United took up the running from the centre kick, and Beckram sent in a high shot, which struck the crossbar and rebounded into play onto A Needham´s foot, and that player had no difficulty in beating Tayles for the fourth goal

Team: Tayles; Dudhill and Lawley; Goodlad, Hilson and Dowson; Lindley, Roper, Chatfield, Westwood and Sheldrake
