Denaby Batsman Hits 81
Brodsworth 148 Denaby 150 for 5
Denaby and Cadeby picked a (W)right day to visit Brodsworth for Joe Wright, who has returned to cricket after a season´s rest scored 81, including 14 fours, in a total of 150 for five in reply to Brodsworth´s total of 148.
In his first over Pegg captured two Brodsworth wickets before a run had been scored. He got his third at 25, then Bellaby and Bailey added another 40 before Holland sent Bailey back for 15. The sixth wicket fell at 73, Bellaby and Mountford added another 21 runs and Town and Hanson made a stand of 35. Pegg had 3 for 36, Robinson 2 for 29 and Wathey 3 for 28.
Denaby lost Burkinshaw and Robinson for 8, but Greenwood played steadily while Wright went for the runs. Their separation came at 90, Greenwood having scored 17. Bacon joined Wright and the two put on 21. At 117 both were back in the pavilion, but Pegg hit out for 30 not our, including six fours, and the Brodsworth total was passed.
