Denaby go to Foot of Table again.
Denaby United 0 Ilkeston Town 3
After this, their seventh home defeat, Denaby again go to the bottom of the Midland League. The forwards had their chances – even a penalty – and although the defence played quite soundly Ilkeston got three well taken goals and give Denaby a lesson in opportunism.
For the first half hour Ilkeston were more direct and faster, but the Denaby defence kept them out. Foster had to clear off the line once, Stasieukiewicz turned a shot from Dunne round the post and Swinscoe, the danger man in Denaby´s 6-0 defeat at Ilkeston earlier this season, was kept well in check by the quick tackling Jones.
Ilkeston scored their first (Swinscoe) just before the half-time break and the second in the 57th minute.
Denaby didn’t stop trying, but lacking someone who could get the ball in the net their efforts came to nothing, and 5 min from the end Ward scored his second and Ilkeston’s third.
