Police Obstruction at New Conisborough.

Alice Thomson, married woman, of New Conisborough, was summoned for having obstructed the police on Sunday, June 23.

Police Constable Barnett said that at 10:20 pm on the date in question he was in Denaby road, and had in custody a prisoner.

The defendant, who was the worse for drink, rushed at him, and seized him by the wrist and endeavoured to rescue the prisoner, who was her brother.

She incited the crowd to rescue the man, and also seized hold of Police Constable Kilner. It was with great difficulty they got the prisoner to Conisborough police station.

Police Constable Kilner, gave corroborative evidence, and the defendant, who did not appear, was ordered to pay 20 shillings, including the costs.
